The ayurveda studies the physical and psychic behaviour of people and prescribes ways for them to synchronize with their environment so as to live happy, healthy and inspired lives. The term Ayurveda comes from sanskrit term "Ayu" meaning "life" and "Veda" meaning "knowledge". The literal translation of Ayurveda is "knowledge of life". This Ayurveda knowledge is grounded in the vedic scriptures, which date back 3000 B.C. Much emphasis is given to diet, following the cycles of the seasons, massages, ubtans (body wraps/treatments) and other useful practices for enriching life.
